Application Support Engineer
Our client is a successful software business based in Lichfield, Staffordshire. They have an opportunity for an application support engineer to join the helpdesk team, providing excellent customer service to their impressive client base. Full training will be provided but this person will need to have some experience of supporting a bespoke application and in particular writing SQL scripts.

The role
This role will involve troubleshooting, installing and configuring software for clients – the resolutions can be quite complex so it’s a great role for someone that knows how to ask the right questions and enjoys problem solving and working closely with clients. Your duties will be as follows:
Providing support by phone, email and chat
Troubleshooting complex issues via remote support
Developing best practice, tips and training scripts for customers on proper use of the software
Inputting technical issues into bug tracking software
Assisting with QA
Additional project work as required
Continuous improvement of the service through learning from customer interactions and helping to develop improvements.

Salary: Up to £25,000 depending on experience. Plus on-call allowance – on-call will be part of the role once you have received sufficient training on the software in order to take on the extra responsibility. Approximately 1 week in 7.
