Our client is a successful business in the software industry. Over several decades they have built up solid relationships with an impressive client base, and continue to acquire new clients for their cutting edge software all the time.

We are looking for an individual to join the IT helpdesk team. This highly skilled team are responsible for supporting business users of their products. Their software is highly complex so you will need to have a positive approach and be a fast learner while you learn the ropes. Each team member is expert in a different part of the system, so you will have your own area to ‘master’ when the time comes.

Calls tend not to be high volume but the resolution can be complex, so you’ll need to call on your best problem solving, fact finding and customer service skills to get to the root of the problem, and solve the issue for the customer.

If this sounds like something you would be good at, read on – these are the skills you will need to thrive in our client’s business.

Key skills:

Experience of software support. Exposure to a bespoke software product such as ERP or WMS or other complex business system ideally. A university placement year or c. 6 months commercial experience.
Experience in a helpdesk environment providing excellent customer service.
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems via email/phone
Ambitious individual looking for a career in software rather than just their next job.
Skills in SQL or other reporting skills would be useful, but not essential, full training will be provided as required.
Similarly, if you are a recent IT graduate with limited commercial experience, we won’t rule you out – the right personality fit and aptitude to learn is just as important.

£18,000 – £22,000 + benefits. Depending on experience. Various benefits including gym membership, pension.
