About this role
The SQL database administrator will be responsible for supporting the national MS Servers and working with the rest of the team to implement best practice approaches and encourage efficient collaborative development. You will be the primary point of contact for support issues raised by the business. Duties will include managing the national SQL Servers and ensuring uptime and solid report/application performance, and managing and creation of SSIS data jobs.
This will be a pure DBA role working on data feeds and ETL job feeds between various systems. There are different source systems and performance tuning will be required.
A typical day will see you improving stored procedures, reviewing and optimising the ETL processes. You will create the ETL frameworks. Your core responsibility is to keep the database server up and running.
This role will suit an individual that can liaise with the business to determine requirements – working proactively – and then liaise with the department to explain what is required. The DBA will also speak to key partner businesses. This is a very important role within the team.
