This policy applies to all employees of Blues Point, as well as visitors and other individuals who may come into contact with our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Management will ensure that appropriate health and safety measures are implemented, maintained, and regularly reviewed. Management is also responsible for providing necessary training, resources, and support to uphold this policy.
  • Employees are required to cooperate with all health and safety requirements, report hazardous conditions, and use provided safety equipment. Employees must take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others.
  • Health and Safety Officer is tasked with overseeing the implementation of health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with legal standards.

Key Areas of Focus

  • Risk Assessment: Regular risk assessments will identify and manage health and safety risks.
  • Training: Employees will receive adequate training on health and safety procedures relevant to their roles.
  • Emergency Procedures: Clear instructions will be provided for emergency situations, including fire evacuation and first aid.
  • Workplace Safety: We will maintain a safe work environment, with regular checks to ensure equipment and workspaces meet safety standards.
  • Reporting and Investigation: A process for reporting and investigating incidents or near-misses will be in place to prevent recurrence.

This policy and associated procedures will be reviewed annually or following significant changes in operations or legislation. Monitoring will ensure ongoing compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Central to our policy are the following objectives:

  • Monitor the effects of our directly-controlled activities and seek to minimise any adverse impact upon our environment;
  • Minimise waste and ensure that there is effective control, which promotes recycling where possible and provides responsible disposal, particularly with regard to hazardous wastes;
  • Promote environmentally responsible policies in all our commercial activities, including purchasing and investment;
  • Work closely with our customers and our suppliers, so that environmental awareness is extended throughout the supply chain;
  • Use energy supplies efficiently and to reduce the impact of our transport operations by the use of shared loads and backhauling distribution systems;
  • To encourage our employees to consider environmental responsibilities and to integrate these considerations into relevant business operations;
  • Comply with current legislation, and beyond this to adopt a best-practice approach to our environmental management policies.
